Donegal Sea Safari
The tour
A 1 hour & 40 minute experience on the wild Atlantic coast learning the history and folklore of the local area while searching for wildlife and adventure.
The route
Departing from Burtonport Harbour, the tour takes a 15 to 20 mile route along the amazing coast. The boat will go through Rutland sound (the black hole) which was an 18th century fishing port. From there you will travel around Arranmore Island where you will be able to see the lifeboat station, the Arranmore lighthouse, sea cliffs and explore the caves. On the tour, you will also pass the sites of several shipwrecks where our skipper will tell the story of how they came to peril. During the tour we will navigate through the small islands on the lookout for seals and other marine wildlife before ending your voyage back in Burtonport.
